In the previous post on TCF result reviews, I wrote that one test centre in France had refused to accept a review request, saying it had to be sent directly to France Éducation, the organization that develops the exam.
I promised to let you know what happened. I hoped the centre was acting responsibly, rather than passing the candidate elsewhere just to avoid dealing with the request.
But no, no miracle happened. The test centre insisted that it was not responsible. My message reached France Éducation during the Christmas holidays, so they replied a few days later, saying that the test centre was precisely where such requests should be handled. We had come full circle. In the end, the centre agreed to accept the appeal request, but only after payment.
What is most annoying in this whole story is the artificial delay in deadlines. The test taker has only 30 days after receiving the initial test results to apply for a review. But if you hesitate, get busy, and then the centre starts giving you the runaround, it is easy to miss that deadline.
