International exams: how to stop being afraid

We continue to figure out how to cope with fear of exams.

Let me remind you that at the first stage It is important to collect as much information as possible.

Where and to what extent to do this, read in the first article. As a rule, after this the overall picture becomes clearer, and the degree of anxiety decreases slightly.

STEP 2

Adequately assess forces and distribute resources:

Time

Before you start preparing, you should have a complete picture in your head:

  • How many weeks/months are left until the exam.
  • How many hours do you have to study every day to get the most out of it?

To avoid a last-minute scramble, assess your situation realistically and choose a suitable exam date. The French TCF, for example, may be offered in Russia only twice a year. But that doesn’t necessarily mean you should register with less than a month to go, turn up unprepared and put yourself through a lot of stress while wasting your money.

Level of knowledge

Find sample tests on the Internet or in specialized books. Go through it and you will understand how difficult or easy the tasks are for you. As a result, write down your strengths and weaknesses to outline a strategy.

Search, download, order textbooks.

Decide, can you prepare on your own or do you need a teacher. It is better if it is a specialist who has training experience and has successfully passed such an exam himself.

If you yourself find it difficult to determine your level, it makes sense to contact such a person for at least a consultation.

Finance

International exams are not a cheap pleasure. Money may be needed not only to pay for registration, but also to purchase materials, a teacher, and maybe even for travel to another city. ⠀

In order not to grab your wallet in a panic at the last moment and not aggravate the level of pre-exam stress in your blood, you need to think through everything to the smallest detail.

B next article Let's talk about how to cope with anxiety during preparation and immediately before date X, when stress peaks, despite excellent preparation. ⠀
