International French exams: how to stay steady the day before

So, in last article we looked at how to plan your exam preparation effectively and get started. Now let’s talk about what to do when anxiety really starts to take hold as the exam date approaches.

Thousands of people have already proven that it is quite possible to score the required scores in international exams. They weren't prodigies or bilinguals. They were also worried, but did not allow fear to paralyze them.

And you can learn to control it. To do this, you need to focus on the main thing and not waste energy on things that do not contribute to achieving the result:

  • Recognize that you are creating anxious thoughts in your own head by studying other people's negative experiences, discussing the possibility of failure with others, instead of focusing on preparation.
  • Take every free minute to study so that you have no time to think about what’s scary. Determine the minimum program - 2 texts per day / 3 oral questions / 1 audio. And... do more!
  • If someone does not understand your intentions to change your life, do not waste time and energy trying to convince him.
  • If you want support, join special chats for those preparing for exams and immigration. For example, in Telegram.
  • Studying exam topics, writing texts for months and training your “ear” is just a routine. It becomes boring - the hand reaches for the phone to watch a new training video, chat with those who have already passed the exam. Focus on how much productive time you spend online and don't get stuck chatting.

If all this doesn’t help and you still want to complain about life and be afraid, the following methods will definitely help you get through this difficult period.

  • Give yourself the moral right to suffer. Every day, cry to yourself or a trusted person about how difficult your fate is. 15 minutes, but no more!
  • Imagine in detail what will happen if you do not achieve your goal and what positive aspects you can take from it. When you have a plan B, failing an exam no longer seems like the end of the world.

But still, success awaits you with a high degree of probability if you follow the plan, teach responsibly and do not be distracted by unnecessary things!

Discipline matters a lot. Do you agree?

Next time we’ll talk about how to make it easier to take into account on exam day.
