What grammar should you use in the TCF?
Do mistakes in complex grammatical structures cost you points in the TCF speaking section? Would it be better to avoid structures at that level altogether?

Let me start with the fact that the examiner evaluates errors in oral speech according to their type and level. That is, it is assumed that at level B you should no longer make level A errors, and at C, level B errors. From which two conclusions follow:
1️⃣structures must be used according to the level you are applying for
2️⃣if you use structures variées et complexes, namely they are expected of you, starting from level B1, you must be completely confident in them, otherwise what is the point of using them - it’s certainly not to show that you have heard something about it, but have not yet learned how to use it.
Another thing is ⚠️auto-correction ⚠️ - when you make a mistake, but correct it yourself. Auto-correction is encouraged at level B2, especially in lower-level structures, and even at C1 it is possible to quickly, without interrupting the flow of speech, return to an error and correctly formulate a statement without it.
