3 ways to learn a language when you have no time

The main problem for most of us is that we’re used to learning ‘at a desk’. That means setting aside an hour to an hour and a half, getting into a serious frame of mind, sitting down, putting out the textbook, picking up a pen, opening a notebook… And of course, nobody is allowed to disturb or distract us.

For those who work five days a week or care for small children, or more often combine both, such relaxed use of time is a great luxury.

The good news is that the world is changing and so is the approach to learning. Now you can learn a language without getting bored and on the run. And don’t let this phrase seem superficial to you.

Many technologies and services have appeared that allow you to effectively combine lessons with other activities.

The device of the century is wireless headphones.

They don’t interfere with cooking, cleaning, or even putting a baby to sleep. And at the same time, you can listen to a lesson or audiobook. Level 80 efficiency👍.

Next is a huge number of applications.

They are great for helping to reinforce the rules, get acquainted with phonetics, increase vocabulary, and test knowledge. We don’t part with our phones and expertly comment on friends’ posts while having breakfast or while hanging on the handrail on the bus. Why not take a couple of tests on the way to work?!

Finally, you can get useful information about literally anything from podcasts.

If anyone doesn’t already know, podcasts are audio recordings of interviews, radio and TV programs, lectures, etc. You can find something on the topic of learning languages, but it’s even more interesting to listen to foreign podcasts that relate to your hobby, work, world news or some everyday issues. The trick is that it is a living, modern language.

All these “helpers,” of course, will not replace full-fledged live lessons and practice with a teacher or native speaker, but they will already be a good big step towards systematic classes and noticeable results.

Now it’s important to understand how to fit these above Life Hacks into your busy day. And learn to combine business with pleasure. I will talk about this in one of the next articles.
