Group language courses or private lessons: which works better?
Only the lazy did not compare language courses and individual lessons.

The topic is important, but I would not like to retell articles from the Internet. So let's look at it from the point of view of those who study French in order to get extra points and immigrate.

So, what do the courses promise us?

As a rule, it means that you will get a certain level over a certain period of time. In other words, you will be given material that is included in the program, and it is assumed that you will master it during this time.

How effective this will be for you specifically depends on many factors:

✔️teacher
✔️number of hours and people in the group
✔️your perseverance, independent work, etc.

How does individual work begin?

From determining your level, discussing your background and setting a specific task.
⠀
Because for the future immigrant and teacher it is very important to understand:

1.What score/level do you need to score for each skill in order to “achieve” a passing grade in the Express entry system.
⠀
▪️The required score is not always just about the level. It is also about understanding the types of tasks, structures, grading systems and what needs to be demonstrated in the exam.

2. How much time do you have to do the maximum possible?
⠀
▪️Birthdays, which take away points, and an English certificate, which also has its own deadline, plus your personal plans - that’s what is definitely taken into account.

There are doubts:
✔️what the courses take into account, why exactly you are learning the language and your plans
✔️that they thoroughly check your remote control
✔️that you receive detailed feedback and answers to all questions, from which self-control subsequently grows, which is so necessary in the exam.

In 2005, I tried in vain to learn Swedish in courses. It took me six months of complete misunderstanding of what was happening. I figured out the theory, but in practice I didn’t have enough feedback, plus there is nothing more tiring than listening to other people’s mistakes. I quit.
For those who do not have extra time, but have a strong desire and want to run ahead of the locomotive, the courses are not suitable.
