French-language draws in Express Entry
There are now three types of draws in Express Entry. You can read more about each one here: link
⚠️This summer's innovation is selections for certain categories. You can read about the general conditions for selection by category at link
❗️In short, 6 categories important for the country’s economy were selected for 2023, one of which was French-language proficiency.
In order to be selected for it you must:
✔️ have a valid profile in Express entry
✔️ meet the minimum requirements to participate in 1 of the three immigration programs under the Express entry system:
• Federal Skilled Worker Program
• Federal Skilled Trades Program
• Canadian Experience Class
✔️have passed the TCF or TEF Canada exam at least CLB7 in all 4 skills, and it doesn’t matter whether you put French first or second in your profile.
The new selection by category does not cancel the provincial selection for francophone streams through Express Entry and does not in any way affect the receipt of an additional 50 points for French on CLb7 (if you have at least English on CLB5).
