Is an Express Entry profile already an application for permanent residence?
No.
A profile is needed to enter the general list of candidates and participate in rounds. A full application for permanent residence appears after the ITA.
IRCC specifically states that a simple Express Entry profile does not count as a full immigration application.
Do I need to upload all documents when creating a profile?
No.
The profile requires information from documents, but a complete personal list of downloads appears after the ITA and completion of the application for permanent residence.
This does not mean that documents need not be prepared in advance. After the ITA, the period is limited to 60 calendar days.
Can I change my profile after it has been submitted?
If the profile is found suitable and is in the general list of candidates, IRCC allows it to be updated. After making changes, the profile must be submitted to the system again.
If a profile is found to be ineligible for Express Entry, you cannot change it - you must create a new profile after you figure out the reason.
What to do if the data has changed after the ITA?
The application must provide current, truthful information.
But first, it's important to understand whether the change affects program requirements or the CRS. Marriage, divorce, new language result, job change, nominations and other circumstances may have different meanings.
Can the information in the application differ from the profile?
Yes, if the fact has actually changed or you are correcting a mistake.
But the difference must have a clear reason. If a change affects program credits or requirements, it cannot be assessed as a regular technical edit.
How much time is given after ITA?
60 calendar days from the date of invitation.
IRCC recommends that you begin filling out your application immediately to ensure you have time to receive and prepare documents before the invitation deadline.
What if I cannot obtain a police certificate in time?
IRCC provides the ability to upload a letter of explanation and evidence that you have made reasonable attempts to obtain the certificate on time.
This is not an automatic exemption from the document. The officer evaluates the explanation and decides whether the action taken is sufficient.
Is it possible to send documents after submitting the application?
If IRCC itself requests a document, it can be uploaded according to the instructions in your account.
If you want to provide new information or submit a document that IRCC has not requested, IRCC's online form is typically used. It should be taken into account that after submission you cannot simply freely edit the submitted application as a draft.
What if the old application to Canada had different dates?
First you need to understand why the information is different.
The reason may be an error, a different understanding of the issue, more accurate information, or a real change in circumstances. The mere existence of a difference does not provide an answer, but it should not be ignored.
How does a consultation differ from an application review?
During the consultation, specific issues and difficult areas are addressed.
Checking the application is needed when the kit has already been prepared and you need to look at the forms, documents and their consistency before sending.
