How to make the most of films with subtitles

A few tips for those taking their first tentative steps in French or any other language, but already eager to watch films in the original language.

Turn on subtitles.

It is better in the original language, in order to get used to not only hearing, but also quickly reading in a foreign language.

Don't get into trouble

When you choose to watch twisted detective stories and thrillers in which you have to watch every word, you run the risk of not understanding what it’s actually about.

Give preference:

• Films that have already been watched in Russian.
• Films with an intuitive plot.
• Films that are recommended for beginners. For example, those in which the characters speak unusually slowly and in simple phrases.

And then you will get pleasure, not additional stress.
