How to move to Canada: our story – part 6

When I received the message saying my certificate was ready, I entered my exam results into the points calculator. The total was a full 20 points above what was needed. Read the beginning of our story here.
So, the last step is to register in the Express entry system and wait for the sample. But suddenly I felt as though I had already crossed the finish line. I had given it my all, proved to myself and the world that I could do it, and… lost interest.
According to the plan, it was necessary to undergo a medical examination, pay for the case, collect documents, and I fenced myself off from all this.
A video appeared on YouTube somewhere with arguments that Canada is very far away, expensive, and that people generally don’t return from there. And it’s time for me to tell my parents about our plans.
But as if running away from really important matters, I suddenly began studying the possibilities of immigration to Europe instead of registering in the Canadian system...
It took a week for someone to snap me out of it. The examiner called and sternly told me she was fed up with writing to me and that I needed to come and collect my certificate.
I didn't remember receiving any messages from her, so I opened my spam folder. Five emails… Why messages from an address I already knew ended up there remains a mystery to me.
I had to order delivery of the certificate by courier. Canada makes samples every two weeks on Wednesdays, I just managed to register for the next one. It seems like there’s even a mood...
But then the universe decides to play tricks and I - an excellent student, an athlete, a Komsomol member - do not fall into this sample. Once every six months they identify candidates for another program and this turned out to be exactly the case.
2 more weeks. Over the past months, I have become accustomed to a constantly busy rhythm. And now I just had to sit and wait... It was unbearable.
But in the next sample, together with me, there are those two people with whom we became friends while taking the first French. This is a real gift, because support is more important than ever at the finish line.
Next we had to collect documents. I'll tell you what it cost me in next time.
But from this part of the story I drew the main conclusion - sometimes it makes sense to wait and treat the hitches as a good omen. Although I personally hate waiting, don’t you?
