How to move to Canada: our story – Part 5

So, about the sign from above. Previous part on link
More than a week has passed since IELTS. I started preparing for the retake and scoured the Internet for something useful, but without enthusiasm.
And then, through some article, I go to a Canadian website and see “Leave your number and I will advise you for free.”
I am wary of this. Why suddenly a freebie, since such help costs a lot? But for some reason I write my phone number in the window.
We call each other in the evening. The man asks about the situation and immediately says, “Why are you taking English again? You are a Francophone! You should also declare French as your first language!”
You know, I couldn’t shake the feeling that all this time I was jumping from stone to stone, trying to move huge boulders and wasting crazy strength. And then one phrase immediately swept away these rubble and I again see a straight and absolutely correct road.
This complete stranger simply allowed me to look where I could not look before.
I immediately opened the scoring program and realized that with the same language level, French first gives as much as 15 points more. Canadians love Francophones! And this is my giant bonus. ⠀
The nearest TCF is in St. Petersburg - in November. My husband suggests going to Moscow - there are two centers there and they accept TEF every month.
As a result, the first center is silent, and the second one answers that there are places only for October. I doubt it, I’m waiting, maybe, well, he won’t go anywhere. In the end, I decide to pay and literally a second before I receive a letter from the first ones with an invitation to September. The second sign is to stop reflecting! There is little time left, TEF is a completely different format and it costs more. But realizing that the wait is even more expensive, I gather all my strength and prepare from morning until night.
And in the light of the revealed circumstances, such faith in myself bursts through me that I pass the exam two points higher than necessary.
And all that remains is to come and pick up the certificate with the results. Suddenly I start to hesitate and come up with a hundred reasons not to do it.
Do I need these results and this Canada in general?
Where such thoughts came into my head, I’ll tell you in next time.
