How to move to Canada: our story – part 13

Everyone knows that strange paradox: the moment you let go of a problem, it suddenly starts working itself out. But you have to truly let go.

That’s how my husband and I, having arrived in Arkhangelsk in the summer, one fine evening decided to discuss our plans for our future lives. And probably for the first time in two years, do this without clinging to immigration, which “is about to happen.”

Inspired by new ideas, we were about to go to bed, and then a letter arrived from Canada.

We are informed that the case is still under consideration, and therefore we need to undergo a medical examination again within 30 days, which was overdue in November.

In the morning I call the American clinic in St. Petersburg, where I find out that the next appointment is possible only at the end of August. And the whole thing happened somewhere in early July. That is, we do not meet the allotted 30 days. Naturally, a frenzy and frantic generation of ideas and energy begins - I understand that the desire to go to Canada is still alive in both of us.

On the Canadian website I find information that if there is a good reason, the deadlines may be moved up. We make an appointment for August 27th for a medical examination with the whole family and temporarily breathe out.

But since our family is usually bored without adventures and difficulties, Vladik makes a manly decision to have a fever right before day X.

As a result, I am traveling alone with my daughter. The medical center is crowded, there are no free windows to reschedule the appointments of my husband and son - naturally, now the immigration issue is slowly emerging from hibernation and everyone urgently needs a medical examination. But by some miracle I manage to find a window for my husband for the evening and for my son, but in a week.

In general, today we have partially passed the medical examination. We are waiting again.
