Studies behind me, the exam ahead

Finally, this moment has come.

A year ago, I attended my first lecture at the Université de Montréal. Just two weeks later, I was thinking, ‘My God, the hours turn into days, the days into months, sleepless nights, weekends without a break…’ For half the fall, I worked standing up and studied lying down — my back couldn’t take the strain, and it felt as though it would never end. I had to discover my inner juggler.

And now, school is over. I received my scorecard at the end of August, and it’s only now dawning on me what an insanely bold move it was, what a hell of a job it was, and what an even more grueling regimen it was to complete a full-time immigration consultant training program while simultaneously taking college exams and teaching my students. And I also have a family. Sometimes, honestly, I thought that I wouldn’t have enough strength. But strangely enough it was enough.

Now - a new stage. I signed up for the license exam. I didn’t have time for September, but everything should happen on December 10th. A letter arrived from the board: strict rules, strict instructions. You read and think - as if the whole world is being placed on your shoulders again.

But I try not to succumb to this and keep stress at bay. I think about my students, I see how worried they are, and I understand: worry never helps. This realization pushes me to believe in myself and plan more.

Of course, in my life there is no “special time” for preparation: I will teach in chunks - while I’m waiting for children from clubs, when I can’t sleep at night (never). The main thing is to see in this not chaos, but the road to something bright.

I want this exam to become not a source of stress for me, but a step into something incredibly positive.
