When I first set out on this path, I had no idea how much time and effort it would actually take. After reading other consultants’ stories, I naively assumed that getting licensed was a clear, logical process with predictable timelines.

But just as I decided to begin, the whole system was restructured. The regulator tightened things up and closed dubious “grey area” routes, effectively moving all training to just two Canadian universities.
Universities immediately began to dictate their terms. This whole process stretched out before our eyes, turning into an endless series of stages.

Of course, it was impossible to predict everything. In some places I acted strictly according to the instructions, and in others I even played it safe and did unnecessary things. For example, for some reason I went to take an exam in French, although my university education was already enough to prove it! 🙈 But it was an experience.

Looking back now: 3.5 years have passed from that first tentative idea to today.
And saying I worked hard for a good half of that time would be an understatement. Physically, mentally, emotionally.

Why am I telling you this long story?
Today I officially received my licence as a Canadian immigration consultant.

This long journey is over. And at the same time, it is just beginning - the most interesting things are ahead.

❤️ I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported me, and especially to those who trusted me with their situations back when I was just waiting for this status. I find each case fascinating: understanding the details and helping you find solutions.

Now comes a gradual, deliberate transition from one profession to another. But I will celebrate and reflect deeply a little later.

Right now the final boss awaits me - bureaucracy: I need to take out professional insurance, open a client account and settle a dozen more technical details.

But the main thing is done. Officially. The step into a new professional life has been completed.
