Changes to TCF

I would say that the April 2026 version of Manuel du candidat was one of the most significantly updated - and, in my opinion, not for the better. I carefully studied the document in full: the rules are becoming noticeably stricter.

1️⃣ An entry has been added to the instructions for the third task of the oral part: L’examinateur est autorisé à interrompre le candidat en lui posant des questions en lien avec l’expression de son point de vue (par exemple pour lui demander des précisions sur ses arguments). Also, a separate clarification was added to the general rules for conducting the oral part that the examiner can interrupt the candidate, ask for clarification, return to the topic, or say that the time for the task has expired.
2️⃣ To the list of threats to the written part, of which there were 6 after the previous change, another one has been added - to the reasons why written work can receive A1 non atteint, added item: vous avez rédigé un texte appris par cœur.
3️⃣ Added to the re-evaluation procedure: if the candidate wants to re-evaluate both the written and oral parts, he must complete 2 separate forms. For two requests for revaluation there will be 2 separate payments - separately for EO and separately for EE.
4️⃣ Added a new block about espace TCF-Candidat, which allows the dealer to create an account, track the correction and download attestation de résultats.
5️⃣ The deadlines for the right to retake have been changed: it was 30 jours entre deux passations, it became 20 jours entre deux passations de la même déclinaison.
6️⃣ The right to drafts has been clarified: for EO TCF Canada / TP / Québec drafts are issued only when the tests pass sur support papier.
7️⃣ The definition of plagiarism now clearly prohibits reproducing or quoting partially or completely existing documents, regardless of whether they were memorized or copied at the time of passing the exam.
8️⃣ As before, during the exam it is prohibited to have any objects, tools, documents with you, be it books, dictionaries, notes, rulers,
calculators, mobile phones, listening devices, recordings or photographs, etc. But they additionally clarified that a candidate who is found in possession of any of these items will be entered into the protocol, which may entail
punishment for fraud.
9️⃣ I was a little surprised that someone refused this, but from now on you will not be able to receive a certificate with the results if you do not agree to be photographed on the day of the exam.
