Apps for learning French

Unfortunately, language apps aren’t a cure-all. You won’t suddenly become fluent and overcome the language barrier at lightning speed just by tapping a screen.

But the fact remains - to introduce you to a new language, its phonetics and reading rules, explain basic grammar, show how to use it correctly in speech, help expand your vocabulary, and some other “little things” and in an unobtrusive form, applications are quite capable.

Today I downloaded more than 30 applications, “looked through” each one, and here is a small list of those to which my soul fell. But! (go back to the first sentence of this post and please re-read).

So here's my short list:

Linguist is one of the most intuitive applications for beginners. Explanations in Russian, lots of grammar, vocabulary, tasks. Free trial period - 30 days. It seems to me that this is enough to decide whether you need it or not.

Memrise - Helps increase vocabulary. There is an “Explore” section where you can point your smartphone camera at an item and find out what it will be called in the language you need. It works, however, so-so. 

HiNative — a place where you can ask questions to native speakers and help foreigners learn your native language. The idea is great, because who but a non-native speaker will be able to explain the peculiarities of the meanings of, so to speak, “non-dictionary” words, and even with examples. The bad news is that the application is not cheap, but the good news is that it is a prototype of the free site of the same name hinative.com. Enter a question and they give you an answer. It's simple.

Busuu — where you can determine your level, create a class schedule, communicate with native speakers and check audio and written messages of foreigners in Russian and

Duolingo - here is a bright interactive in the form of tasks with passes, matching tasks, etc.

15000 Vidéos Learning French — the name makes it clear what should be there, but for some reason it stopped working. Suddenly they will improve.
