How to move to Canada: our story – part 10

You’ve probably started to think I changed my mind about immigrating. It’s been a long time since I shared any news from the Canadian front. ⠀

Let me remind you that at the end of December 2019 we submitted the documents. And now we have been waiting for almost a year. If anyone missed the details of the story, you can read them from the very beginning. link. There are already 10 articles there. ⠀

Honestly, I didn’t plan to turn this story into a long-running series. But, as you understand, 2020 made its own adjustments. ⠀

There has been no news or movement for a year now. At the same time, Canada previously responded at least somehow - they sent some extracts from the case. They say that the documents have been reviewed, but there is no final decision. But my last request was answered at some length...they unsubscribed... ⠀

And it seems clear that now the whole world is on pause. But nevertheless, this uncertainty and the absence of at least some specifics, deadlines, and prospects are very depressing. ⠀

Plus, we have run out of “medicine” - these documents are valid for a year. In a good way, Canada should send a request for a re-pass in this case. But they are silent here too, and it is not clear what to do. ⠀

I’m not at all used to such situations and they are very difficult for me. I am a man of action. It takes me a second between stimulus and response. And here you cannot influence the processes in any way. You just sit and wait. At the same time, you are literally torn from within by the desire to do at least something. ⠀

This is probably why I now put a lot of energy into work, into some new activities, into training. Just so as not to think about what is happening with our documents and with the Canadian border. And still, the topic of immigration, no matter how you look at it, permeates all areas of life. ⠀

Sometimes you don’t even dare to buy new clothes, because you immediately think, we’ll move soon and then drag them with us... Not to mention the larger household purchases that are now necessary. And it turns out that we not only live in a state of exhausting anticipation, but also in physical discomfort. ⠀

To be continued...
